Wedding catering in the Lake District - canapes and drinks, individual steak and ale pies, "desserts in jars". Evening food - fish and chips.

We would like to say the biggest thank you to Ian, Louise and the Abbotside Team. Their catering and service was absolutely second to none! From the food tasting right through to the day they were professional, helpful, knowledgeable, trustworthy and reliable. Their years of experience dealing with external catering really showed and they gave us some amazing advice. Ian’s food was so so good from the canapés, the individual steak pies, to the desert display and the fish and chip cones. The guests raved about the food, which is a big part of the wedding. To do all this in a tipi for 160-180 guests is even more impressive and they did not compromise on presentation or quality at all!

Louise and her team of service staff were brilliant. Louise was really calm and I totally depended on her to work her way through our unstructured and untraditional day! She made it work so well. The waiting on staff were exceptional well presented, so polite and made sure no one ever had an empty glass or went hungry. They served the food to the table, which was laid and delivered as beautifully as any 5* restaurant. CANNOT PRAISE ALL OF THIS TEAM ENOUGH! Out of this world, book them now you won’t be disappointed! Thank you for making our wedding day so incredibly special. Your organization and professionalism in the run up was top notch and definitely helped us a lot. On the day it’s self the food was amazing. We had so many compliments about it, and the team’s service was outstanding. We really couldn’t have done it without you and can’t say thank you enough.

Wedding Barn Catering for 100 - Canape and drinks reception, gourmet fish & chips wrapped in personalised newspaper, "desserts in jars", coffee and evening hog roast. 

We just want to say a massive to you and all of your team at Abbotside for helping to make our wedding day so special last week. Our guests were commenting all day about how stunning the food was, from the canapés at the start through to the hog roast at the end. Hazel was absolutely amazing as FOH Manager and couldn't do enough for us.

From the very first quote until everything was packed up at the end, the efficiency and professionalism from you all was outstanding.

Wedding catering – Afternoon tea for wedding breakfast, and hot beef sandwiches at night.

Ian and his team are fantastic! They provided the catering for our wedding which consisted of afternoon tea then spit roast beef butties in the evening. The food was fantastic, all our guests have been raving about how delicious every part of it was, Ian has been super helpful, and his team were complete professionals on the day and everything ran beautifully smoothly. I can't thank you guys enough, you were truly amazing

Hi Ian,

After a hectic weekend and the dispatch of the happy couple to their honeymoon also now safely completed I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you again for the fantastic food you provided. In addition, the service we received from all your staff throughout the day was second to none; of note Hazel's skill as the Front of House Manager was pivotal in ensuring that everyone had a great day.

You should be very proud of your team and I would be grateful if you would pass on our thanks to them. Without their slick and professional input David and Joanna's wedding would not have been the success it very clearly was.

P.S - I personally thought the green minty sauce was great - you did tell me what it was called, but after too many drinks I cannot remember its name. If it's not a 'trade secret' I would be grateful if you would send me the recipe for making it.

We would like to thank you for the excellent service we received from you all. Everybody was most impressed with the way things went and the consideration that all your staff gave to us all. Please make sure that all your staff are made aware of this.

Ox Roast for a wedding breakfast and evening food

Hi Ian,

Just a quick note to say thanks very much for doing the Ox Roast for our wedding the other week. It was absolutely fantastic, and the beef was delicious. Only problem is it makes me a bit sad about having to buy the poor quality beef from the supermarket from now on!

Roy was great, so please could you pass on our thanks to him as well?

Anyway - just wanted to say thanks, I know it was a bit of a hassle to fit us in, but it really did make the day for us. Everyone commented on how great it was.

If any other customers ever want to speak to someone who has had an ox before feel free to give them my details and I'll let them know how good it was.

Black Tie Ball for 300 guests – 3 course meal
Hi Ian,

Thank you to you and all your staff for yet another remarkable meal. I have had nothing but glowing comments about the food again. The staff were also great – nothing was too much trouble for them and the evening went without a hitch. Yes you are right - we are thinking of moving the ball into the rugby season and are looking at 29th September - are you available for that date and if so can you put us in the diary. We are looking to increase numbers to about 450 next year. Thank you once again for a faultless evening.

Fun bespoke event catering – a medieval feast held in an old castle

Hello Ian

I've just made payment of the balance for the buffet and feast last Thursday. I wanted to thank you and all your staff for your professional service and - not least - for the quality of the food. I had many compliments on it from my customers, which is just what you want to hear!

The feast was grand - Louise and the girls were magnificent, always helpful and ready to bear with our nonsense. The little sauces were a particular triumph. The thing is, we probably won't have a feast next year, which is nothing to do with your part in it at all, just part of wider planning. However, I will definitely be in touch with you about providing a buffet for our Study Day again next year. The theme in 2018 will be Britain, so lots of traditional British food ides I guess!
