As far as we know, The Whole Roast Ox is the only outside catering company with the ability to cook an entire ox at your event. The company runs alongside Abbotside Events, having begun when owner Ian Bell purchased a large mobile oven back in 2015.
As well as being utterly delicious and a real spectacle, a whole roast ox is perfect if you are catering for a very large number of guests. We only use locally sourced beef from Red Tractor Assured farms, where we know the farmer and trust them implicitly to produce excellent beef. An ox roast will provide between 500 and 2000 sandwich style servings
You can choose to have your ox roast served as part of a plated meal, or as a hot beef sandwich with our version of Chimichurri sauce, Raydale Mustard, Horseradish sauce, Red Onion Chutney and peppery salad leaves.
As always – we are flexible, and can adjust the ox roast to suit your needs; for example offering wedding breakfast catering by cooking the hind quarter and loin to medium rare to serve plated, and then continuing the roasting process to use the fore quarter for hot beef sandwiches at an evening wedding reception, with the cuts such as beef brisket served as “pulled beef”.
